Aug 24, 2022On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened a 2,600-bed private hospital featuring state-of-the-art equipment, including a centralized, fully automated laboratory. At the event were also Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Governor Bandaru Dattatreya of Haryana. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Modi noted that spirituality and healthcare are intertwined in India. The largest immunization effort in history was made possible by a successful spiritual-private partnership, he continued, citing COVID-19 as an excellent example. The country's advancement in the healthcare sector will come from a combination of technology and modernization, the Prime Minister said, adding that India is working to ensure that governments and other parties step forward to reform the health and education sectors on a mission mode. With the help of Mata Amritanandmayi Math, the cutting-edge Amrita Hospital was created on a vast 130-acre site with sustainability in mind. It contains a dedicated seven-story research building and was erected over the course of six years. The brand-new super-specialty hospital has 500 beds at the start, and it will be completely operational over the course of the following five years.
