According to the source, a 22-year-old field agent for a private investigation firm has been detained for allegedly buying call detail records (CDRs) unlawfully and selling them to persons. After an officer was instructed to act as a bogus customer to buy CDRs, the offender, Pawan Kumar, was taken into custody. The accused is supposedly working with a security agency, according to senior police officers, and the relationship between the police and the internet service provider is being investigated.

According to the police, they have information from an informant that unidentified individuals are buying CDRs and selling them. On Sunday, the police and the informant approached the defendants while they were out shopping. They met the defendant and came to an agreement for Rs 25,000. According to DCP (Outer north) Brijendra Kumar Yadav, "a raid was undertaken with a staff member posing as a decoy customer. The man was detained with evidence in his possession. According to what we've been told, a security agency is involved. Action is being taken against the accused for obtaining the data in an unauthorized manner while the situation is being investigated.
