The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for the upcoming few days due to the likelihood of severe to extremely heavy rain in some areas of Karnataka. The IMD predicted rains in the state, including Bengaluru, in an advisory on Tuesday, August 2. The department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm) in isolated parts in 19 districts throughout the state.
Additionally, according to the forecast, an orange alert has been issued for Tuesday, August 2, nine districts for Wednesday, 11 districts for Thursday, and nine districts for Friday in eight districts. Up till Friday, there is predicted to be heavy to very heavy rain in the coastal regions of Karnataka, Dakshina Karnataka, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada. However, a yellow alert has only been issued on Tuesday for Bengaluru Rural and Urban districts.
The maximum and lowest temperatures are expected to be about 30°C and 20°C, respectively, according to the IMD's forecast for Bengaluru during the next 48 hours. On the evening of August 1, the city saw somewhat significant rain, which caused some trees to be uprooted. According to the IMD, Bengaluru experienced roughly 45.7 mm of rain on Monday night.
