Shershaah, Sidharth and Kiara's debut movie together, had its one birthday last week. In honour of the movie's anniversary, actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani expressed their gratitude to the viewers for their support and love of the film.
The title of the biographical war play, which is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, a hero from the Kargil battle, comes from the martyr's codename. Malhotra played both Captain Vikram Batra and his identical twin brother Vishal Batra in the Vishnuvardan-directed film, which debuted on Prime Video in 2021.
The film earned overwhelmingly positive reviews from both critics and viewers for its heartfelt story and soulful songs such as "Raataan Lambiyan" and "Mann Bharryaa", besides winning many awards.
Malhotra expressed his gratitude for the film's unceasing support and expressed the hope that it would do so even a year after its debut. Advani praised everyone for their "multitudinous" support of "Shershaah," which she believes has an impact on people all across the world. Advani plays Dimple Cheema, the fiancee of Captain Vikram Batra in the movie.
During the 1999 Kargil war, Captain Batra led the assault of his soldiers from the 13th battalion of the Indian Army's "JAKRIF" regiment. He received the Param Vir Chakra, the highest medal for valour during a war, posthumously. Captain Batra received numerous honours for his heroic deed, earning him the nicknames "Tiger of Drass," "Lion of Kargil," and "Kargil Hero."
“Shershaah” also starred Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra.
